Arrival on campsite
Setting up your outfit on a caravan park

- Check in at reception and make your way to your alotted pitch
- Usually you will have to reverse onto the pitch. If in the middle of the park you may be able to drive on forwards
- Before uncoupling the car, use a spirit level to check if the caravan is level from side to side
- If not level, place a levelling ramp, or suitable blocks of wood under the lower side's wheel and use the car to slowly pull the van onto it
- When level, pull on the handbrake and use wheel chocks to keep the 'van static
- Raise the jockey wheel to separate from the 'van and tighten in that position
- Disconnect the car from the caravan - 12v electrics and safety breakaway cable - before moving the car away!
- Use a spirit level front to back on the caravan floor and adjust the height of the jockey wheel until the caravan is level
- Lower the corner steadies, using spreaders if the ground is soft
- Connect the mains cable (if to be used) to the socket on the van and the electic point for your pitch
- Switch on the mains in the caravan and check if the lights work
- Turn on the LPG cylinder
- Switch fridge to mains if hook up is used
- Fill up water containers and connect to the 'van
- Seat up waste pipes and waste container
- Set up the cassette toilet top tank with water
- Place the awning poles on the ground in their correct places
- Slide the awning through awning channel, assemble the poles and peg down the awning
- Open a bottle of wine or put the kettle on -- you've earned it!
