At the end of the 17th century the Martin family (a family of winegrowers from the Charentais countryside) became a prosperous enterprise, the son, Rémy, founded his own trading company in 1724. Today, famous throughout the world, the Rémy Martin company has known how to remain independent and faithful to its beginnings.

Visits from 10.00 to 17.30, half hourly in July and August, during the months of April, May, June and September from 10.00 to 11.00 and from 13.30 to 16.30 (in October by prior arrangement).

Its silhouette is known throughout Europe and the county of Charente Maritime is its happy owner. But the contract signed with the television producers means that the Fort cannot be visited. Numerous boats trips departing from La Rochelle or from Boyardville, take you round it.
